| The king of contradiction strikes again You said the last to cross the finish line will win And the beggers will be millionares someday And the humble ones are gonna have their say Well all my friends are gone now And all my money's gone now And all my pride is gone now And if what you say is true now
This will be my finest hour This will be my finest hour
Well everything is opposite down here The strong surive and the rest just disappear But your philosophy is more unique You say I'll be stronger when I'm weak
This will be my finest hour This will be my finest hour
It's 2am and sleepless I'm wide awake and restless I don't know what my deal is I've never felt so helpless I don't understand it I don't think I'll ever comprehend it It's so hard to concieve it So, I guess I'll just believe it
This will be my finest hour This will be my finest hour | | |
| Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
But I'm not that girl:
Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl
Ev'ry so often we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in
Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl:
Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl

| Jer. 15: 15 Then I said, “Lord, you know what’s happening to me. Please step in and help me. Punish my persecutors! Please give me time; don’t let me die young. It’s for your sake that I am suffering. 16 When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies. 17 I never joined the people in their merry feasts. I sat alone because your hand was on me. I was filled with indignation at their sins. 18 Why then does my suffering continue? Why is my wound so incurable? Your help seems as uncertain as a seasonal brook, like a spring that has gone dry.”
19 This is how the Lord responds:
“If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you! 20 They will fight against you like an attacking army, but I will make you as secure as a fortified wall of bronze. They will not conquer you, for I am with you to protect and rescue you. I, the Lord, have spoken! 21 Yes, I will certainly keep you safe from these wicked men. I will rescue you from their cruel hands.”
~
I have a world to offer you A place of peace and joy. But this gift requires you walk away And leave in My hands this boy.
My hand is held out in a gesture of invite I beg of you to receive. Will you clam and trust the Heart of your God? Or will you turn away and leave?
Do you think you know yourself better then I, Who formed you with the stars? Who knows your heart better then I, Who resides there by your part?
Trust Me, lover, Walk close and choose Me. And with your heart at rest in Mine, You will be truly Free.

Scarlet is the color of her heart against the night
Prism of her innocence fracturing the light
She will take her stairwell down to dark and heartless streets
And spend her season singing songs to infidels and thieves
Love is so blind
It's so blind
Her eyes will meet the faces of the profane and the poor
And give to them the pearls she keeps behind her inner doors
She will speak the truth and she will ache and she will bleed
For the idiots who own the air the prophets have to breathe
Love is so blind
It's so blind
She is not the mystery they make her out to be
She calls them like she sees them - she sees unselfishly
The ears of those who listen can be callous or concerned
They pity her naivete or marvel at her worth
Love is so blind
It's so blind
